Selective Mutism, or SM, is an anxiety disorder which prevents those affected from speaking in certain situations, such as at school or in public. 1 of 140 young children suffers from SM. They are often misunderstood and misdiagnosed. With a family member who have lived with SM since she was 4, and now in her yearly 20’s still is struggling to make her voice heard, we want to support her initiative to raise awareness for this, not so uncommon but still rather unheard of disorder.
